CINCINNATI -Federated Department Stores has announced its plans to construct a new concept Bon Marché store at The Northside Center in Helena, MT, in 2001.
The concept store will be the first of its kind to be built by Federated. There are 42 traditional Bon Marché locations. The new full-line department store will be specifically designed to service small to mid-sized communities and will include a single-level, single-entrance layout and centralized customer service stations.
The 65,000-square-foot facility will offer upscale apparel, accessories and home merchandise, excluding furniture, with an emphasis on customer convenience throughout. Construction will begin in the spring, with the store opening planned for the fall.
"We are very excited about our new store concept in the 'open air' Northside Center," said Dan Edelman, chairman of The Bon Marché. "The Northside Center provides a unique way for The Bon Marché to meet its customers' needs. The unique design of our new Helena store represents a range of opportunities for The Bon Marché and other Federated divisions to service small and mid-sized communities where larger store formats would not make sense."
Helena will be a new location for Bon Marché, which has other locations in Montana, in Missoula and Bozeman, as well as others in Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming, for a total of 42 stores.
