BROCKTON, MA —
Area and accent rug manufacturer and importer Homemaker Industries recently appointed Michael Kelly to the newly created position of executive vp and coo.
Kelly will hold the position simultaneously with his current duties as senior vp, manufacturing and business systems, for bedding and window treatment manufacturer Arley Corp., where he has spent the past 11 years of his career.
In his new Homemaker position, Kelly reports directly to Arthur Millman, president.
Kelly will continue to work from his same New York office at Arley Corp.
"It's exciting for me to be with Homemaker, and I expect we'll have an exciting 2002," Kelly told HTT . "It's certainly going to be a tall order for me to work under both positions, but I'm up to the task. Braided rugs are making a comeback, and we are getting placements with key accounts. Business is good."
For the past two years, Homemaker has been manufacturing the bulk of its offerings, braided rugs, in Mexico and distributing them from its Texas facility. Other rug offerings from Homemaker include imported specialty rugs, like flokati rugs, which the company imports from Greece and other countries, Kelly said.
We would love your feedback!
