Louisville loses design chief

LOUISVILLE, KY —

After almost five years of heading up design for all of Louisville Bedding's fashion products, Marliese Krivobok-Johnson is leaving the company — and the home textiles industry — as of Jan. 3 to become an art teacher "so I can spend more time with my family," she told HTT.

Louisville Bedding is currently interviewing candidates to fill the post.

Pat Rudavsky, director, merchandising and design-fashion, hopes to fill the spot by March/April market.

Krivobok-Johnson's title is head designer for fashion products, but Rudavsky said she may change the post to director of design.

The responsibilities for the job are to direct design for the company's decorative pillows, table linens and kitchen textiles lines.

"It's a good move for [Krivobok-Johnson], and in a way it's good for us, too," Rudavsky said. "Like anything else, it's also good for us to bring in someone new with new ideas for design."
