New York —
Table linens supplier Lintex Linens turns 40 years old this market, and to celebrate, the company is turning toward shaded, al fresco dining by the barbecue.
At its less-than-two-year-old Mumbai, India-based manufacturing facility, the company came up with a multi-component outdoor table linens collection that coordinates everything from the umbrella cover to the tablecloth, and from placemats to the chair pads.
Kurt Hamburger, president and managing director of Lintex, told HTT that all of the pieces are made of the same fabric.
But with the exception of the kitchen towels and napkins, all are coated with a special treatment that makes them resistant to water, stains, mildew and odor. This includes the umbrella cover, tablecloths, placemats and chair pads.
"It's important for us to get into this category because we are able to fill a very great need for fully coordinated groups of outdoor table linens and accessories," he said.
The tablecloths feature a slit with a Velcro-like seam for use with outdoor umbrella tables. They come in four sizes — a 70-inch round, a 90-inch round, a 60-by-84 oblong and a 60-by-104 oblong.
The chair pads feature a special padded back support flap for added comfort.
There are four striped designs — a pastel, a neutral and two different bright palettes.
The line is open stock.
Suggested retail price for a 70-inch round tablecloth is $12.99.
