Newport/Layton builds up quilts, outdoor pillows

At the New York Market – Newport/Layton came to market with a fresh assortment of quilts – a category the company tacked on only last September to its growing product assortment. There are a variety of patterns, many of them regional and also several in solid colors.

Outdoor decorative pillows, seat cushions and chair pads remain a point of focus for the company, and Newport has many new looks beyond botanicals to offer.

To its top-of-bed program, the company came to market with a new approach -- a streamlined design look -- that better suits its customers’ needs in the current economy. Newport/Layton has long been known for its opulent and embellished beds made in rich fabrications. But to appeal to some modern tastes, the company is showing several new looks with contemporary lines and color-driven looks as well as some bedspread styles that are making a comeback.
