New York —
WestPoint Home recently announced that its purchase of Manama Textile Mills in Bahrain is complete and operations have begun there under the name of WestPoint Home.
"WestPoint Home is continuing on a course of global expansion to better service the needs of our customers," said WestPoint Home ceo Joe Pennacchio. "This acquisition will allow us to enhance our competitive position in the worldwide marketplace while still providing the same excellent quality and service we have been supplying for more than 125 years."
"The WestPoint Home operation in Bahrain is a fully vertical operation with state of the art equipment capable of producing a full range of bedding products," emphasized Chris Baker, coo.
The operation will be managed by Robert Lanier. He has been with WestPoint since 1977, and most recently served as vp responsible for all bedding production. Lanier will relocate to Bahrain.
Pennacchio added, "The recent completion of our preferred stock offering provides added funds to support the company and the development of our overseas manufacturing strategy. Our plant in Lahore, Pakistan is currently producing towels and we have a number of new product introductions planned for 2007."
We would love your feedback!
