Park B. Smith in Showroom Move

New York —
Park B. Smith Inc. has moved its showroom to the 230 Fifth Avenue building from its longtime showroom at 295 Fifth Avenue.
While building out what will be its permanent showroom on the 18th floor, the company is occupying two temporary spaces on the 13th floor – one for offices, the other for the showroom. The temporary showroom will be used during the market here next month, said Park Smith, chairman.
The new space will offer as much display space as the former facility – about 8,000 to 9,000 square feet. “We had moved storage and back office functions to our facility in New Jersey some time back,” Smith explained.
Last Friday evening, Smith planned to host a wine dinner at the Veritas restaurant here to launch an endowed fund to provide scholarship assistance for U.S. Marine Corps veterans and the children of disabled Marine officers to attend the College of the Holy Cross.
Featured guests at the dinner were Robert M. Parker, Jr., the noted wine consultant; Philippe Cambie, the proprietor of one of Chateauneuf du Pape’s leading estates; Vincent Maurel of Clos Saint-Jean; and General James T. Conway, commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Tickets for the dinner were $25,000 each; the fund already has raised $800,000.
In addition, the College of the Holy Cross last month dedicated the new Park B. and Linda Smith Laboratories, part of the first phase of the college’s Integrated Science Complex.
The Smith’s $10 million contribution to the facility was the lead gift and continued their long term contributions to the college.
We would love your feedback!
