Rockland expands drapery line

BALTIMORE -Rockland Industries' Total Light Control division has broadened the fabrications on its Roc-Lon TLC drapery liner program.

Its Blackout brand shade cloth is now available in five different surface-embossed patterns: tuxedo stripe, chevron, crepe, moire and solid color, according to product manager Darlene Sanders. In each of the surface treatment categories, the shade cloth is available in 16 colors.

The shade cloths come in two different constructions: cloth on both sides or cloth on one side, backed by foam on the other. The latter "gives you a lower price point, but the fabric is a little softer than the cloth/cloth" construction, Sanders said.

The products are manufactured at Rockland's plant here.

Roc-Lon TLC also recently introduced a new light-filtering shade cloth, which diffuses light rather than blocking it completely. Available in solid colors, it is also being made as cloth on both sides or cloth and foam. "The one that's cloth/cloth gives you a firmer finish," Sanders said. "It's a tremendous insulator, though not to the degree that Blackout is."
