Waterford, N.Y. – After 10 months of planning, basic bedding supplier Soft-Tex Manufacturing, has moved to a new 125,000-square-foot factory here.
“We located to a new plant which offers efficiencies we could not realize at the old facility,” said Arthur Perry, president of Soft-Tex. “We now have a layout conducive to business in today’s varied market, offering quick turn-around abilities, flexibility for small to medium size orders, plus an efficient conveyer system to move massive orders quickly.”
The 21-year-old Soft-Tex now has executive offices and the production and fulfillment center under one roof, complete with 10 new shipping and receiving docks.
Soft-Tex also upgraded its machinery, production floor layout and distribution center with the move. Finding a location that allowed it to hang on to its seasoned workforce was also a priority, said Perry, who added the company did not lose a single employee in the transfer.
Soft-Tex makes bed pillows, fiber and featherbeds, mattress pads and memory foam products. The company is licensed in these categories with brands such as Therapedic, Royal Velvet and Charisma.
