ANDERSON, S.C. — As part of its $8 million capital investment plan that it announced last year, machine woven area and accent rug supplier Orian Rugs is beginning construction on a 130,000-square-foot addition to its manufacturing and distribution center, which currently measures 420,000 square feet.
At the groundbreaking ceremony Thursday, the company will also celebrate its 25th anniversary in business.
The new space will be equipped with new state-of-the-art machinery. These recent upgrades are intended to accommodate Orian's aggressive growth plans as well as facilitate major improvements in the logistics and process flow within the plant, which is located here at headquarters.
In related news, Orian Rugs recently hired Dennis Kreson as its national sales manager for the Calypso Rug Division. He replaces David Starr, who left the company in December to become the Southeast regional business manager for Sugar Valley, Ga.-based Mohawk Home.
Kesson reports to Don Newton, senior vice resident of sales and marketing. Kreson most recently worked as the area rug buyer for CCA Global.
