New York– Ankasa, the luxury home textiles producer, will open its first retail store at the end of May. Originally a high fashion apparel fabric company, Ankasa entered the home textiles business 22 months ago.
The 3,000 square foot, two-level store, will open at 135 East 65th St. here, said Jodi Sandman, vp. It will be the first of four the company plans to open in the next two years. The south and the West Coast are the next immediate targets, Sandman related, though no specific cities or sites have been identified.
The first store will be a lifestyle home store format with the company’s bedding and decorative pillows as the core. Accessories, small furniture pieces, and glassware will round out the assortment.
“Every piece in the store will be exclusive to the store. We will not compete with our customers,” Sandman emphasized. “We will be featuring our very forward-looking home textiles products.”
We would love your feedback!
