Pillowtex eliminates 74 positions

KANNAPOLIS, NC —
As part of a cost-cutting initiative, Pillowtex last week pared down its staff with the elimination of 74 positions throughout the company.
The cuts, which the company attributed to the softening retail economy, will impact manufacturing and administrative functions. Forty-five of the eliminated positions were from headquarters.
