Showtime Activities Include Fun, Learning

Social activities and special events again will be an important part of Showtime here this week.

On Sunday, opening night, Showtime celebrated its 40th edition, or 20th anniversary with "Fabulous at 40" from 6 to 8 pm at The Factory at Market Square. An industry mixer will be held on Monday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. also at The Factory. On Tuesday, MMPI sponsors "Get Twisted in the Land of Ahhs," a social held in the Suites at Market Square.

Other activities include a presentation by designer Jane Matteson at 10 a.m. Monday and 1 p.m. on Tuesday. Trend forecaster Ellen Gefen will present Trendspotting at 1 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. Tuesday.

"Life after China: The Western Business Equation Changes Again" will feature a panel of industry experts discussing the current situation. The event will be at the String & Splinter Club's second floor with reservations available at (917) 251-9922.
