Sears Holdings Taps Kasbe for IT

Sears Holdings has hired Timothy Kasbe as svp and chief information officer, taking over that role from Karen Austin, who will now serve as president of the home electronics business unit.
Kasbe most recently was cio at Reliance Retail Ltd., a startup retail chain in India that has opened nearly 1,000 stores in a range of formats during the past two years. He had previous experience with IBM, Andersen Consulting and Westpac Banking Corp.
“Timothy brings to the company over 20 years of experience creating and delivering global IT strategies and solutions within the retail, banking and telecom industries” said Bruce Johnson, interim ceo and president, Sears Holdings.
Johnson added, “I’m confident he will take the team to a new level while effectively building on the work that has been underway in the IT organization.”
