Stein Mart board approved

JACKSONVILLE, FL — The shareholders of Stein Mart Inc. approved the current board of directors for a one-year term during the company's 2001 annual meeting of stockholders.
Stein Mart executives Jay Stein, chairman and ceo, and John Williams Jr., president and coo, were re-elected as directors. Also re-elected were Alvin "Pete" Carpenter, former vice chairman of CSX Corporation; Linda McFarland Farthing, former president of Friedman's Inc. and former president of the Cato Corporation; Mitchell W. Legler, Esquire, general counsel to the Company; Michael Rose, private investor and former chairman, Promus Hotel Corporation; and James H. Winston, chairman, LPMC, a real estate investment firm based in Jacksonville.
Also elected to the board were J. Wayne Weaver, chairman, ceo and majority owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars; and Martin Stein, chairman and ceo of Regency Centers Corporation.
