Abhiasmi expands assortment

New York – Abhiasmi Inc. is gearing up for market with“a big new line” across all product categories: bath rugs, tufted area rugs and decorative accessories.

Asmita Paliwal, director of the U.S. division Abhiasmi Inc. and its parent company, Abhiasmi Private Ltd. in Panipat, India, told HTT the company opened its first U.S. showroom here at 7 West 34^th St. in suite 707 last September to join the bi-annual New York Home Fashions Market.

“We are looking to expand here with a greater presence and serve customers better with faster and easier delivery,” she explained.

Parent company Abhiasmi Private Ltd. was opened in 1965 by Paliwal’s father-in-law, Ajay Paliwal, under the name Paliwal Exports.

Four years ago, when Asmita Paliwal married Ajay’s son, Abhijat, the three renamed the company Abhiasmi to reflect the new couple’s first names combined. Today, this family-owned-and-operated company is vertical and operates 12 factories in India and exports its products globally.

For the upcoming market, Abhiasmi is showing a broad line of new offerings within all of its home textiles businesses – bath rugs and shower curtains, tufted area rugs, decorative pillows, throws, soft window treatments and hand-woven accent rugs as well as kitchen textiles and table linens.

Among the highlights will be a new berber rug collection, she noted, as well as many new fashion looks including embroidered and embellished styles.

Abhiasmi will offer new products for all levels of retail – from basic entry-level to mid-tier to better and high end – a structure the company divvies in-house as the discount, comfort, luxury and prestige brackets, respectively.
