Trade associations to kick off grassroots campaign

GREENSBORO , N.C. North Carolina textiles executives will kick off a joint grassroots campaign to elevate public awareness of trade issues in Greensboro on Monday, Oct. 4.

A statewide billboard campaign focusing on the need to change trade policy will be a main tactic of the effort. A full-size billboard, along with yard signs and bumper stickers, will be unveiled at the event.

An 11 a.m. press conference will take place in the parking lot of Fairway Outdoor Advertising, 1920 West Lee St. Expected attendees include: John Emrich, president and CEO of Guilford Mills; James Chesnutt, president and CEO of National Spinning Co.; and Steve Dobbins, president and CEO of Carolina Mills.

The campaign is sponsored by the American Manufacturing Trade Action Coalition, the National Council of Textile Organizations and the National Textile Association.
