For Orian Rugs, importing is a nominal-yet necessary-aspect of its business.
"It's an easier capacity issue," said David Starr, national sales manager.
Primarily a domestics manufacturer of polypropylene area rugs, Orian "occasionally" turns to its sister company in Belgium for more seasonal products, also polypropylene.
"Domestically it's easier for us because it's easier to deliver products to retailers on time and our customers can come anytime to check our facility and check on product," Starr explained. "We could, like anyone else, import more. We just choose not to."
We would love your feedback!
