Avonhome creates director of national accounts, hires Galperson

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 4/20/2004 12:00:00 AM

NEW YORK — Avonhome recently hired Rob Galperson, appointing him to the newly created post of director of national accounts. Based in Los Angeles, he reports to Chris Mooney, executive vice president of sales and merchandising.

Galperson spent the past seven years of his career at Burbank, Calif.-based Barth & Dreyfuss. He worked in various sales capacities over that period, most recently as national accounts manager covering Wal-Mart, Target, JCPenney, Mervyn's, ShopKo, and Pamida, among others.

"Rob's wide range of experience in the sales environment will greatly aid us in growing pieces of our business that are underdeveloped," Mooney said. "Not only does he have a great history with these customers and product categories, but in addition his enthusiasm and passion for the product is really what makes the difference. And from what we hear, his customers love him."

Added George Kouri, president: "As we move toward an expanding business strategy at Avonhome, we find the need to add some additional top-tier strength in our sales area. We're making inroads in market share in all our categories quickly and this is part of an ongoing effort to support that."
