NEW YORK —
Apparel and accessory maker Capelli-NY has created a home fashions division, headed up by Loretta Gallion, director of sales and marketing.
Gallion previously held positions at Dan River, Peking Handicraft, Springs Industries and Imperial Home Décor Group.
Capelli-NY has been selling blankets, throws and dec pillows for five years, according to Ilene Kent, director of licensing and marketing. The creation of a home fashions division dovetails with the company's expansion into juvenile bedding.
"Capelli already has a successful line of room décor products for kids, including bed canopies, area rugs and plush doorbells," Kent said. "We're well on our way to establishing ourselves as a one-stop shop for juvenile room décor."
Capelli's other product lines include fashion accessories, sleepwear, footwear, toys and novelty items.
Working with Gallion in the home fashions division will be sales executive Risa Salinas, who previously worked at Hollander Home Fashions. Salinas will be based in Dallas. Rounding out the team is Lisa Nuttall, principal of LisaDesign Incorporated, previously vice president and design director for the Domestications catalog.
"We feel very fortunate to have an industry veteran such as Loretta Gallion leading our effort to build market share in the competitive home fashion business," said George Altirs, president and CEO.
