Kmart's bluelight specialist to leave

By Andrea Lillo -- Home Textiles Today, 4/30/2001 12:00:00 AM

TROY, MI — Kmart Corp. has announced that Brent Willis, executive vp and chief marketing officer, who was part of the company's Bluelight relaunch only a few weeks ago, will leave his position for personal reasons, effective May 7. After that date, the marketing and advertising departments will report to Mark Schwartz, president and coo.

"We understand and respect Brent's decision to put his family first and are thankful for his many contributions to Kmart," said Chuck Conaway, chairman and ceo.

In an unrelated appointment, Kmart named Lori McTavish vp, communications, effective May 3. Reporting directly to David Rots, chief administrative officer, McTavish will be responsible for internal and external communications, community affairs and public policy.

"A highly respected communications professional, Lori McTavish is a great addition to the Kmart team, and her strong values will be instrumental in the company's continuing effort to build its reputation," Rots said. "As we continue to grow and evolve with innovative ideas that focus on our customers, her diverse communications background will help Kmart communicate effectively and move us forward with all of our audiences."

A 15-year communications veteran, McTavish joins Kmart from DaimlerChrysler, as senior manager, corporate media relations, North America.
