AATCC selects grant recipients

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — AATCC grant recipients of its Foundation Student Research Support Grant Program (2003-2004) are: Dapeng Li, University of California-Davis, "Characterization of Diffusion Behavior of Solvent Dyes in Polyester Fabrics via K/S Measurements"; Song Liu, University of California-Davis, "A Study on Mechanism of Controlled Functional Grafting Reactions on Textiles"; Fatma Kilinc, Auburn University, "Developing a Design-Oriented Comfort Model"; Michelle Hain, University of Nebraska, "Influence of Laundering and Drying Conditions on PLA Fabrics"; and Jaclyn Lillis, University of Wisconsin, "Weaving Our Way Through the Past: A Look at Textiles from the Neolithic Site of Robenhausen."
The AATCC Foundation Student Research Support Grant Program was established to encourage student research in textiles chemistry and related fields important to the textiles industry. Its purpose is to support and facilitate textiles research conducted by undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in textiles programs. Individual awards can range from $250 to $2,000, depending on the project's significance to the textiles industry.
