ADO introduces Oeko-Tex certified fabric

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 6/14/2007 12:54:00 PM

Spartanburg, S.C. – Fine fabric and custom drapery manufacturer ADO Corporation has received the internationally recognized Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification for its ADO SmartFabrics product line containing both ADO ActiBreeze and ADO BioProtect treatments.

This is the first time ActiBreeze and BioProtect are available together in one fabric, the company said.

The Oeko-Tex Standard 100, with its “Confidence in Textiles” labels, comprehensively addresses all components of textile products to assure no harmful substances are present in any significant amounts.

The testing method, used in Europe, Japan, and the United States, certifies that the products are free from (or significantly below legal limits on) allergenic dyes, formaldehyde, chloro-organic carriers, biologically active finishes, and meet several related standards.

Walter Herr, evp of ADO, said the company “understands the importance of manufacturing products that are both friendly to the environment and to the consumer.” He added, "The best thing about ADO SmartFabrics is they are stylish, versatile fabrics that incorporate cleaner, more evolved living environments for everyone."
