AT THE NEW YORK MARKET —
Catching up with its booming quilt business, Newport Home Fashions recently added new state-of-the-art computerized quilting machinery as well as wide-fabric slitter machines to its headquarters in Portland, OR.
Its quilting business, part of its growing bedding division, has doubled in the past year, George Whyte, vp, told Home Textiles Today.
"We had to get all this new equipment because quilting is growing very rapidly for us," Whyte said. "The company has really focused on the business as its grown. Two-and-a-half years ago we were primarily a duvet provider. But today more and more customers are asking us for quilts."
We would love your feedback!
