Nourison opening second showroom

SADDLE BROOK, N.J. — Nourison will have double the exposure this July at the AmericasMart, where it is opening a second showroom.

The company, which leases a large space on the sixth floor for the bi-annual Atlanta International Area Rug show, will for the first time also exhibit its domestics line of accent rugs at the International Gift & Home Furnishings Market, which overlaps the area rug event.

Nourison's new permanent showroom space, which measures 700 square feet, is located in suite 9-A-14 in the Merchandise Mart area of the AmericasMart.

Nourison introduced its first collections of accent rugs for its domestics division in April of 2000 when it opened a space in New York at 295 Fifth Ave. Since then, the company has built up this business in the specialty and department store sectors.

But it now is looking to expand into gift and accessory stores with its offerings of hand-hooked, hand-tufted, and hand-carved fabrications in both washable synthetic and natural-wool yarns. Also on display will be the domestics division's new fixture, designed to display 72 accent rugs — 48 2-by-3 and 24 3-by-5 rugs — in eight of Noursion's best-selling patterns.
