Group seeks nominees for top green Christmas gifts for babies and children

Ottawa – Green Parents’ List is accepting nominations until Oct. 2 of products to feature in its list of Top Green Christmas Gifts of 2009. Nominations can be submitted by email or in person at the ABC Kids Expo, at the group’s booth, No. 2312.
Green Parents’ List will select the best CPSIA-compliant Christmas gifts based on innovation, parent-appeal, and kid/baby-appeal to be featured in the Top Ten List.
Green Parents’ List works with companies to provide consumers with access to a list of products checked against the restricted materials requirements of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA). Each product appearing on the Green Parents’ List web site, and bearing the Green Parents’ List Check Mark has been reviewed for CPSIA restricted substance requirements by parents who have scientific backgrounds.
The Top Ten products selected from the nominees will receive:
License to use the Green Parents’ List Check Mark on their product, product packaging, promotional material and website;Listing of their product on the Green Parents’ List website, including direct links to online vendors of the product;Marketing and press exposure as a 2009 Top Green Christmas Gift as chosen by Green Parents’ List.
The contest is open to all manufacturers, importers and distributors of CPSIA-compliant children’s products. To nominate a product as a Top Green Christmas Gift, send an e-mail to topten@greenparentslist.comon or before Oct. 2. The email must include the following information:
Contact information and “relationship” to the product (i.e. manufacturer, importer, distributor, etc.);The name of the producer of the product being nominated;The name of the product; A description of the product (200 words, max);A summary of the product’s baby/kid-appeal, parent-appeal and innovation;Up to three photos of the product and/or its application.
Submitters of winning nominations will be contacted for follow-up information by Oct. 6. Nominations can also be filled out and submitted in person at the Green Parents’ List booth at the ABC Kids Expo in Las Vegas.
