Family Dollar taps Zucker for merchandising operations

Matthews, N.C. -- Family Dollar Stores has promoted Scott Zucker to vp - merchandising operations, reporting to Robert George, evp and chief merchandising officer.
Zucker will oversee several departments at the 6,400-unit neighborhood discounter, including: category management, pricing, merchandise solutions, vendor management and visual merchandising.
Zucker joined Family Dollar in 2006 as divisional vp - pricing. Previously, he was a buyer with Belk and then a retail consultant at BearingPoint.
