Chester, N.J. —
Fresh from the Atlanta International Gift and Home Furnishings Market, Areen, based here, is introducing a collection of home accessories for the fall.
The India-made line includes cushions, throws, bed covers, runners and curtains. Materials include velvet, faux suede and silk. Colors offered range from primary to pastel. Areen offers custom services for size, color and fabrics.
The company is also introducing the Sequin collection. Pillows are embellished with sequins and embroidered; each design is offered in a variety of colors and sizes.
The Areen line is a tribute to the Indian craftspeople who are reviving old traditions of hand-crafted items. Currently, Areen's home accessories line is available at Harrods in London and the Taj Group of Hotels in India. It is also supplied to the Queen of England by the Thomas Goode Company.
The Areen company has been in business here since January 2006, according to Neera Badlani, co-founder and co-president. Badlani and her husband, Michael, also co-founder and co-president, are also in the retail business; they own and operate a home furnishings retail store here called Great American Country. Based on the Atlanta reaction to Areen, Badlani is optimistic; and plans to introduce the next new line of products in January 2007.
We would love your feedback!
