Charlotte, N.C. —
Steph Link and Lane Friedman, both of Missouri-based Stephens College, have taken first and second places in the home/interiors category, respectively, as part of the Computer Integrated Textile Design Association's (CITDA) 2005 scholarship contest.
Applicants were required to create an original collection of four textiles print designs on a computer, draw inspiration from the theme and create fabrics appropriate to the categories specified for interior furnishings. Contestants then had to illustrate the print designs in end products and fill them in at the appropriate scale.
Among other software prizes, first-place winners received $500.
Judges for the home category were: David Williams, Springs Industries, Inc., director of design for national accounts; Dewey Cabe, Target Corporation, senior designer responsible for global home, modern home, contemporary home and Isaac Mizrahi home; and Ellen Waldrup, freelance designer, former design director at Culp Inc., and designer/owner of Excelsior Design.
We would love your feedback!
