New York —
Tayo Onadein, former vp of design for JLA Home Fabrics, has formed a new decorative fabric company: Hometex Decorative Fabrics Hangzhou & Co., Ltd.
"I decided to start my own fabric business with a partner in China, Bill Xu," who is the general manager of a family fabric mill, said Onadein. "Fabric styling is what I love the most."
The company is based in China and has a design staff there. "We will soon open a North Carolina office," he commented.
The company's first line will debut at Showtime in High Point, N.C. in December and will focus first on upholstery fabrics with some 50 to 55 designs. "Next we will do bedding-weight fabrics and designs," Onadein told HTT.
We would love your feedback!
