Macy’s in five-bed Eva Mendes launch

By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 9/12/2008 2:21:00 PM

New York – Macy’s is launching its latest celebrity exclusive, the Vida “everyday luxury” line of bedding ensembles created by Cuban-American entertainer and model Eva Mendes and her partner George Augusto.

The five bedding styles in the initial launch this month will pave the way for a lifestyle home décor line, the retailer said.

“Vida is about easy luxury -- the colors, fabrics and textures that I live and love, brought to life in a stylish, comfortable and affordable way,” said Mendes. She is set to make store appearances, with the first events at Macy's in Miami (Dadeland store), and Aventura, Fla. on Sept. 20.

“Vida will have a broad appeal with its modern take on classic designs for the home at an affordable price, not to mention the star power of Eva -- a talented and respected name in the fashion and entertainment world,” said Tim Adams, chairman and ceo of Macy's Home Store.

Vida starts with five styles, each presented as four-piece ensembles (comforter, bedskirt, two standard shams) with queen at $340 – except for Rosa at $425 – and four-piece completer sets (two dec pillows and two Euro shams) at $100.

The styles:

  • Bettina – saturated, warm colors

  • Isabella – elegant gold and rich mocha jacquard

  • Rosa – gold and ornate embroidery in micro-sateen

  • Kalia – romantic detailing

  • Jayde – floral pattern jacquard, available only in Florida stores.

Vida sheet sets in ivory and gold will also be offered on macys.com with queen-size at $130.
