By Staff -- Home Textiles Today, 11/25/2003 12:00:00 AM

Atlanta — The Home Depot has merged its smaller Northwest division into its Western division, and subsequently made two executive appointments. The merger will result in the closure of the company's Seattle store support center, and the loss of 100 jobs.

Eric Peterson, a 10-year Home Depot veteran and most recently the division president of the Northwest division, has been named president, Strategic Markets, based here. He reports to Bob Nardelli, chairman, president and ceo.

Bruce Merino, a 20-year Home Depot veteran, will lead the division. He most recently served as president, Western division. The new division includes 335 stores and will be headquartered in the existing Orange County, CA, facilities.
