Toronto – Sears Canada will open a series of pop-up stores on university campuses across the province of Ontario this month, stocked with housewares, home decor, bed and bath, electronics, and cosmetics.
The four pop-up stores will be housed this month at Brock University, Sept. 4-5; University of Western Ontario, Sept. 8-9; McMaster University, Sept. 11-12; and Queen’s University, Sept. 26-27.
“A pop-up temporary storefront concept has been gaining popularity in Canada, and Sears Canada is delighted to bring this concept to four Canadian universities, at a relevant and exciting time like back to school,” said Dene Rogers, president and ceo, Sears Canada.
The locations, each about 900 square feet, will also feature a recruitment area for students interested in job opportunities at nearby Sears stores, as well as a Sears Travel and Sears MasterCard application kiosk.
Go Sears with those pop-up stores. Do some in the United States. Get the jump on WalMart on something.
Also get rid of some of your higher-up paid help.
We run our business with a few people and when we get busy we just have to work harder.
Thank you,
a KaMart/Sears shopper.
