GHENT, BELGIUM — Deco Contract has joined Decosit as a full-fledged trade fair from September 9 through 12 at the Brussels Expo.
The contract segment which began as Decosit Contract Village, an off-shoot of Decosit last year, will be held in Hall 12. Indigo, the design fair that previously occupied this hall, now moves to Hall 10.
Exhibitors at Decosit Contract Village have been given the opportunity to choose between showing at the new Deco Contract or in the halls of Decosit.
This year Deco Contract will feature not just fabrics but wall coverings and floor coverings. The exhibit has already signed 60 exhibitors from 11 countries, reaching the goals of this segment, said Patrick Geysels, general manager. Next year the expectation is 100 exhibitors.
Decosit itself has increased in floor show space by 7 percent to accommodate former exhibitors who had left temporarily, and for those who were at Decosit Contract Village who wish to return to the main Decosit arena, said Geysels.
Decosit has about 400 exhibitors from 30 countries with Belgium, Italy and Spain leading the exhibitor rankings.
As its trend statement, the Flemish Masters have moved from its traditional origins to a design statement called "Black and White," an optical wall of fabrics with scale an important design element. The trends are contained in the "Black Box" that contains all the significant colors as well as black, which plays an important role in the statement.
