Bomar Trimming ceases operations
Company accused of abandoning Mexico plant

Lakeland, Fla. — Trimming supplier Bomar Trimming apparently has ceased operations.
Attempts to reach the company, a former exhibitor at the Showtime fabric exhibition in High Point, were unsuccessful. Two phone numbers linked to the company have been discontinued, and the number posted on the company's Web site for corporate headquarters continually rang busy.
The company sold fringes, cords, bullions, chair ties and tie-backs and tassels to upholstered furniture manufacturers and to other outlets such as retail.
In an undated message on its Web site, the company said growth required the company to expand its manufacturing capabilities in Mexico with an additional 65,000 square feet.
But recent documents filed in U.S. District Court in El Paso, Texas, by Texas-based NAFTA Corp. accused Bomar of abandoning a plant in Juarez, Mexico, in August and skipping out of a five-year lease set to expire in December 2010.
NAFTA claims that Bomar owed it $133,212 in back rent as of Oct. 1. Continuing damages in the amount of $32,478, plus penalties, are accruing monthly. Bomar has not secured a space in High Point for the Showtime textile show next month.
