Wal-Mart's Fish retires

Bentonville, AR — Dick Fish, Wal-Mart's vp, gmm, domestics, since 1997, has retired as of today, a spokesperson for the company said.
A search is under way to replace him.
Of his career at Wal-Mart, Fish said, "I loved it. I had six great years there, and it was a good end to my 34-year retail career. If you're going to work in this business, you might as well work for the best. They treated me well, and management was always supportive of what I did."
However, because of such factors as not spending enough time with his family, he decided to do something different. "But I don't know what different is yet ... I'm fielding a lot of phone calls from a lot of people."
Before joining the retailing giant and breaking into domestics, Fish spent his entire career in apparel, with 25 years at Montgomery Ward before moving to Corral West Ranchwear, a Western apparel specialty chain, in 1994.
We would love your feedback!
