Bed Bath & Beyond opens in Canada

Richmond Hill, Ontario – With this morning’s grand opening of a 34,000-square-foot store in the Bayview Glen Shopping Centre here, home furnishings specialty giant Bed Bath & Beyond has crossed into international retailing for the first time.

At the event BB&B ceo Steven Temares remarked, "We are excited to open our first store in Canada and to share our longstanding traditions of exceptional customer service, great value and a broad assortment of merchandise with the GTA,” a reference to the Greater Toronto Area.

To support the effort, the company launched www.bedbathandbeyond.ca as a quick-start gateway for local shoppers into its main website. The Canadian website will be developed over time.

  This morning August 20th I visited the new store in Oakville, ON. I received a coupon for 20% off last week in my newspaper. I asked the clerk at the info desk if they would have another 20% off coupon available as my husband threw all the papers out Tuesday on our recyle day.
  
  How easy would it have been to give me a coupon for 20% off and let me buy what I wanted. Instead I left the store angry.
  
  What can be done for me? I wanted to purchase an item over $200.00 and 20% would have made me happy.
