Mejier teams with domestic maven Katie Brown

Grand Rapids, Mich. – Supercenter chain Meijer has selected home entertaining and décor maven Katie Brown as its “Home Solutions Advisor,” a role in which she will help develop new product lines and provide shoppers with easy-to-follow solutions to home projects.

“Katie Brown brings such an appealing and engaging approach to everything from holiday entertaining to backyard gardening that we felt she was the perfect fit for Meijer,” said Dave Clark, vp of brand and product development at the 185-store Midwest chain. “She connects so strongly with our shoppers -- from her Midwest roots to her fun and simple solutions geared to those who want to save time and money.”

Brown has hosted “Katie Brown Workshop” on PBS for four years; she previously hosted “Next Door With Katie Brown” on the Lifetime network. A native of Petoskey, Mich., she just released her fifth book, “Katie Brown Celebrates.” She also writes a New York Times-syndicated column, “Domestic Dilemmas.”

Clark said of the long-term potential of the partnership: “We're excited about the possibilities that Katie presents -- from branded product lines to online programs.”
