York, PA — The Bon-Ton Stores has appointed Frank Tworecke as president and coo, reporting to Tim Grumbacher, chairman and ceo. The position had been vacant since 2000.
Prior to joining the company as vice chairman and chief merchandising officer in 1999, Tworecke served as president and coo of Jos. A Bank Clothiers and as president of the Merry-Go-Round and Cignal Stores.
Grumbacher added that Jim Baireuther, vice chairman and chief administrative officer, will now report to Tworecke, as part of the overall succession plan to strengthen its management team. The last person to serve as president and ceo at The Bon-Ton was Heywood Wilansky, who left in 2000 and now heads Filene's Basement.
