Baltimore -- Tamarian Carpets is building on its natural fiber assortment of eco-friendly area rugs with the soon-to-come launch of its hemp collection.
Available in seven designs, the hemp assortment is hand-crafted in Nepal. Its construction also includes Tibetan wool and viscose accents.
Tamarian, founded in 1995, will introduce the collection to its customers for the first time in Atlanta during the International Area Rug market. The company’s permanent showroom at the AmericasMart there is space 6-E-18.
Brian Chan, assistant, advertising and publicity, told HTT Tamarian’s open line comprises more than 500 rugs made of mostly natural fibers, and all made by hand in Nepal.
“The hemp line is part of our commitment to the environment,” he said. “It’s now part of our company’s already sustainable collection of carpets composed of wool and cotton, and some silk and viscose.”
Tamarian’s hemp rugs cater to the company’s core customer base of higher-end retailers, including specialty stores, rug and furniture dealers and department stores.
