Guests Curtains ready to shutter

Port Chester, NY — Port Chester will lose a long-time window retailer come the third week in November, as Guests Curtains closes its doors after decades — perhaps nearly a century — in business.
"This area has become hot real estate, and I got an offer I couldn't refuse," said owner Irwin Kfare, who joined the company 40 years ago, when the store was already probably 40 or 50 years old, being founded by someone named Guests.
His family has been in the textiles business for as long as he can remember and lays claim to being the first Fieldcrest distributor in Manhattan, he said. Kfare first had a store on 125th Street and Lenox Avenue, but then he joined his uncle in the business here.
We would love your feedback!
