Sides retires from Hollander

Boca Raton, Fla. – Hollander Home Fashions today announced the retirement of David Sides effective Sept. 30. 

A search for Sides' replacement is underway. In the interim, Chris Baker, ceo, will oversee the sales team. Chief merchandising officer Beth Mack will continue to direct the product development team, reporting to Baker. 

Hollander Home Fashions will be honoring Sides’ contributions with a retirement celebration during New York Home Fashions Market Week. 

"David Sides’ contributions to Hollander Home Fashions over the last 15 years have been immeasurable," said Jeff Hollander, executive chairman. "Not only has he been a great leader, but by serving as a strategic partner with both me and my father, Leo Hollander, he was also instrumental in developing Hollander into one of North America’s largest bedding manufacturers. After my father’s passing, Dave’s partnership, passion and commitment greatly eased the difficulties associated with our loss. Dave will always be a part of the Hollander family.”

Sides joined Hollander Home Fashions in 1994 as a business director responsible for the sales and marketing for bed pillows, feather and down comforters, and related products. He was promoted in 1996 to senior vp of sales with responsibility for sales and product development for the corporation. In 1997, he was appointed president-basic bedding, and in 2006 he was appointed president of Hollander Home Fashions responsible for managing sales and merchandising for the company.

I am confident that there will be a smooth transition and that Hollander Home Fashions is positioned to continue growing and increasing its leadership role in the bedding industry."
