Job cuts drop in February

CHICAGO —
In a hopeful sign, job cuts fell in February to their lowest level in eight months, said Challenger, Gray & Christmas, the company that tracks announced layoffs nationwide. Job cuts declined by 40 percent, to 128,115 from 212,704 in January.
