1888 Mills Opens N.Y Showroom

1888 Mills has made personnel changes and several shifts in its structure, including the opening of a new showroom on the 16th floor of 295 Fifth Avenue, commencing with the current New York Home Textiles Market.

To capitalize on the sports marketing and promotional sector, 1888 has merged its Specialty Markets Division into McArthur Towel and Sports, which will share the new 1888 New York showroom. Gregg McArthur, a fifth-generation executive in the venerable company with roots to 1885, serves as president of McArthur; Doug Tingle is ceo.

Tingle has assumed the role of vice chairman, board of managers; Abdul Yaqub remains chairman. Jonathon Simon brings his passionate leadership to the ceo function and assumes the day-to-day operations of the company.

Fulton Allen, with a proven track record of management success, has become president of 1888's Retail Division. Jack Bray takes on the role of president of the Commercial Division.
