Wal-Mart promotes two dotcom execs

Bentonville, Ark. -- Wal-Mart Stores today has named Carter Cast head of U.S. business strategy, and has appointed Raul Vazquez president and ceo of Brisbane, Calif.-based Walmart.com. Both will report to Eduardo Castro-Wright, president and ceo of Wal-Mart Stores'U.S.division.

Vazquez succeeds Cast in the dotcom role. In 2000, Cast joined Walmart.com in 2000, becoming ceo two years ago. Vazquez joined the division in 2002 and most recently served as the company's chief marketing officer. He oversaw the launch of the site's major redesign initiative last year, and managed all marketing and creative functions for the online business.
