Topping joins 828 International

Greenville, S.C. – After more than 30 years of owning and operating a variety of furniture stores, Bill Topping is moving back to the manufacturer side of the floor covering industry, with 828 International Trading Co.

Supplier 828 has hired Topping as its account manager covering the upstate New York and Pennsylvania regions, and he is focused on increasing the rug company’s market share with new and existing retailer customers – especially specialty stores -- in his assigned territory.

Most recently, he ran his family-owned and operated Topping & Company, a retailer in Rochester, N.Y., that specializes in area rugs. Earlier in his career, he worked for a family-owned furniture manufacturing facility in Merrick, N.Y.

In his new stint he is based in Hilton, N.Y., and reports to 828 national sales manager Tom Morris.

“Topping knows retail inside and out,” said Morris. “His experience and understanding of the home furnishings market will be a great asset to 828. We are excited to have him join our team.”
