Joined with suppliers, Revere Mills changes name

DES PLAINES, Ill. — Under a new partnership formed with two of its longtime product suppliers in Pakistan , bath and beach towel and kitchen textiles company Revere Mills is changing its name to Revere Mills International Group.

Two of the company's suppliers for more than 18 years in Karachi, Pakistan — Regal Textile Industries (Pvt) Ltd. and Eastern Textiles (Pvt) Ltd. — have bought stakes in the company and now share ownership.

For Revere , the partnership allows for more rapid expansion as a vertical manufacturer, as well as growth for its importing business.

"With the continuing market changes and the highly competitive nature of this business, it was inevitable that we become one company, as partners, to more efficiently serve the marketplace," said John Vanden Berge, president.

Newly appointed to the board are Khalid Iqbal of Regal Textile Ind. and Afaq Khan of Eastern Textiles. Lori Kite Gideon, chair of the board, and Vanden Berge remain members of the board.

In related news, Revere recently moved all of its main operations here from Niles to support growth.
