New York —
Fashion Delivers and K.I.D.S. recently joined forces to step up charitable donation efforts from the apparel and home textiles industries to people in need.
Fashion Delivers is a non-profit created in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina to deliver goods to flood victims, which went on to offer aid to earthquake victims in Asia. K.I.D.S. is a 20-year-old national and international charity of leading retailers, manufacturers and licensors of children and youth products, committed to helping kids and families in need.
Recently, Management Marketing Group's Allan Ellinger, chairman of Fashion Delivers, joined the board of K.I.D.S. The purpose of the alliance is to leverage K.I.D.S.'s delivery systems for Fashion Delivers product. For K.I.D.S., the partnership brings adult merchandise into the program.
“The home industry has begun to respond,” said Frank Foley, chairman and president of CHF Industries, who sits on the Fashion Delivers board.
“The donation has a similar financial impact to the contributor” that selling to a distributor would, Foley said, “and it serves good causes.”
We would love your feedback!
