Pittsburgh — American Textile Co., maker of private label mattress and pillow protectors, this spring will break ground on a combined world headquarters and distribution facility in Duquesne, PA.
"The new distribution facility will allow us to ship products to our customers within 24 hours of receipt of orders," said Jack Ouellette, president and ceo.
The new state-of-the-art facility will have a footprint of 110,000 square feet and will cost approximately $8 million.
A search for a new site for the company began roughly a year ago when American Textile's sales and growing product line could no longer be accommodated by its present location.
"My dad and his brothers started out in this area making mattress covers and ironing board covers for Sears in 1925," said Reid Ruttenberg, chairman. "This new facility positions us for another 75 years of growth and innovation right here where our roots are, and we are ecstatic about that."
We would love your feedback!
