ATC president and ceo Jack Ouellette presents Pink Pillow donation to Jo Ann Meier of the Pittsburgh affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. |
Pittsburgh -- Bed pillow, mattress cover and pillow cover manufacturer American Textile Company (ATC) has generated $120,000 through its annual Pink Pillow Initiative for breast cancer research and awareness.
“We are proud to support efforts to find a cure and generate more awareness, especially among women who are at risk,” said ATC president and ceo Jack Ouellette.
ATC is donating $20,000 of the total money to the Pittsburgh affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The remainder of the money will be donated to Komen’s national organization, which is headquartered in Dallas.
ATC first introduced its Pink Pillow in 2005. The polyester-filled bed pillows, encased in rosy pink bands, are sold for $10 at retailers nationally, with a portion of each sale going toward breast cancer research. Last year ATC raised and donated $78,000.
This year’s initiative partnered A. J. Wright, Amazon.com, Bi-Mart Stores, Burlington Coat Factory, Century 21 Department Store, dd’s Discounts, Fred Meyer, Gottschalks, HomeGoods, Home Outfitters, Kmart, Kohl’s, LTD Commodities, Marshalls, Ross Stores, Sears, Shopko, Stein Mart, T. J. Maxx and Wal-Mart.
We would love your feedback!
